To be fair, which one of these two is easier to animate over a long animated project?
of course the simpler one, doggonnys was talking about his ocs having simple designs few weeks ago, then i said to him "since you're going to start doing animations you will be thankful for having characters with simple designs"
@TheMiamiDeSantos I've learned that even holds true for 3D modeling when working by my lonesome (so that I can move on to actually making the characters move sooner rather than later, plus I can get away with some CRAZY squash-and-stretch animation and faces the simpler and less realistic your characters are).
yeah this animation business was supposed to be a studio job, not work for just one dude, being so we gotta cut some corners, i wish more people had it in mind so they would demand more of the big studios and take it easier on the indie dudes
@TheMiamiDeSantos Yeah, even the most professional-looking and popular indie works these days like Lackadaisy and Murder Drones are made by teams of hundreds of people working remotely across the world. They're only "indie" because they are not made for what you always call a "multinational corporation" like Disney or Illumination.
Every once in a while, I like to check out stuff made in programs that are made specifically for indie hobbyists (as opposed to teams or professional studios) like Windows 3D Movie Maker or RPG Maker, where I can be more forgiving because that stuff is not supposed to be used in professional work, just for fun.
there are also some awesome stuff like starbarians made by one dude but it takes too long, dude took 3 years to make a 7 minutes ep, it's too much time and lol multinational corporations haha
